Health and Fitness

Health and fitness is the state of being healthy both, physically and mentally. Regular exercises and balanced diet can improve health and fitness of a person. We can define health as the state of complete mental, physical and social well-being of a person. It is not only the absence of illness, diseases or infirmity. We can define the fitness of any person as the ability to meet demands of the environment.
There are various ways we can keep us healthy and fit if we follow regularly the following:
  • We should regularly involve in the daily physical exercises by getting some time from our much hectic schedule. 30 to 60 minutes of exercise on daily basis or five to six times a week is ideal for anybody to remain fit.
  • Healthy and clean food in right amount and at right time is very necessary for a person to stay healthy and fit. Healthy nutrition with high-fiber, low-fat, high protein, and rich source of vitamins and minerals is the key to good health.
  • In order to get fit and healthy, good sleeping pattern is very necessary for any person. We need to maintain a discipline in our daily routine and focus on good sleeping pattern which must start and end at right time. Taking quality sleep of eight hours each night boosts our immune system and helps in preventing cardiovascular diseases as well as improves mood. Inadequate sleeping pattern leads to the sleep disorders and various mental disorders
Health and fitness is very important for people who want to live a healthy life very happily and peacefully. A healthy and fit person is only capable to live life to its fullest extent. We can say a person healthy and fit if he/she is physically and mentally fit. Physically and mentally fit people become less prone to the medical conditions. Health and fitness of any person helps in:
  • Decreases the risk of diseases (high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary heart diseases, colon cancer, osteoporosis, obesity, stroke, breast cancer, etc).
  • Make them feel better both, physically and mentally.
  • Improves their confidence level.
  • Heals injuries soon.
  • Helps to live longer by adding years to the life.
  • Reduces stress and improves quality of life.
  • Reduces anxiety level, stress, and feelings of depression.
Regular physical activities and routine exercise is very necessary for the people of all age group especially younger generations. Health and fitness brings happiness in the life and helps a person to live stress free and disease free life.

  1. For the fifth group there are many focuses here grammar, reading comprehension, speaking, listening and translating because of that I suggestion you give specific focuses here. For example grammar what the part of grammar you want to teach them like speech act or tense maybe, then reading you can give specific purposes I think maybe find the main idea, detailed information or anything else, then speaking what your purpose in speaking maybe giving introduction well, greeting, communicating with other. I think you must give the limitation on your goal here because if you don’t give it limitation it will let you teach them with unclear direction. Next, for the material for the fifth meeting it is about reading and speaking, I think for the activities it is impossible for the teacher only using one passage and then ask them directly and the question is only five. I think it better for using several passages maybe 3 passage and then you ask them what the information of the passage and the last to retell again what the passage is and the students is free to choice what the passage she wants rather only one passage. The last I just want to know why you don’t put method discussion in your course for the fifth meeting I think better using discussion in reading. I think that’s all, overall it is good.

  2. I think your course (description, competence) is too general. You could make it more specific. “Students understand how to use English orally and written in good grammar.” In what topic is? It is not clear enough but the designed is systematically enough. In addition, your 5th meeting is good although in a simple way.

  3. Well, your materials in your syllabus are coherence. Your syllabus's constructed systematically well, too. Maybe here I will only focus on your course outline design, though, since I have a generally same comment as Ika in your choice of activities foryour 5th meeting. As for your choice of design, the way you make the table is a little bit confusing. Usually, a course syllabus that I read always put the topics/subtopics/materials in the leftest column, after the number column. Your materials column that is put in the middle may confuse your students and others.

  4. this is kind of simple syllabus. the text you choose also related to midwifery, but in syllabus you said "Students will be able to use good grammar in telling their ideas" but you didn't mentioned what kind of grammar that should they use in telling their ideas, and for the assignment too. it's too simple if you just use that kind of material and assignment for 2x45 minutes. but, you have done well

  5. here is the simple course, i suggest to this group to make the basic competence more specific to the midwife. then, about the course outline design, it would be better to read if you mention the material first then indicator so the reader wouldn't repeat to read. moreover, you all guys have conducted a good course. :)

  6. addition, don't forget to mention the number of page that you use in the every meeting.

  7. good syllabus and lesson plan. they are coherence one.but, I think, the allocation time for the fifth lesson plan is too long since the activity is too simple as well.

  8. waww, This is a simple syllabus. but you can add the evaluation of your course outline, evaluation is a very important aspect to be your guidance when you teach your students, so, you have the visualization that the way to evaluate your student's work. actually, this is a good course but your course outline table make me confused, why you put the indicator in the first aspect? why you didn't put the topic or material first? because usually the syllabus will serve the topic first to make the reader know what the focus of each meeting. in your fifth meeting material, I suggest you to add some materials not only the exercise. Because, the students need the explanation first before they do the assignment or exercise. additionally, what you have done in the fifth meeting is not enough to fulfill 2x45 minutes, but you have done well

  9. I wanna give suggestion for in the fifth meeting that you have designed. Actually, the materil is good enough. but, I think it is so simple material. because, you make the duration 90 minutes for 1 meeting there. but, your material is so simple. so, maybe be better if you can give addition another material related to your topic and make it more interestng. But, overall your course syllabus is good.

  10. This is simple syllabus, good and appropriate used in midwifery. But there is an addition from me, you can give more specific focus here in basic competence, based on student's need you know and you can develope more what kind of grammar for example as your purpose. I think enough and good job, thank you all..

  11. I think, this syllabus is simply created. Again, I also hesitate your materials in the middle. Probably, you may try to make it differs by creating it in column. Therefore, this syllabus should have interested materials such a video as example or a illustrated picture. At least, not only using a book as a material exactly, it may also have various materials in this syllabus. Yet, your work is great as this syllabus made. Thank you. :)

  12. I think, it is a good and appropriate syllabus for midwife. Now, I want to comment about “Students are able to: Use good form of grammar and use it in the simple conversation. Understanding the content of the text” as indicator and “Introduction to Midwifery” as material for the first meeting in the course outline. I think, there is no relation between indicator and material. I know that the material it’s appropriate in the first meeting, but it’s not related with the indicator. In my opinion, it’s better for the students “to know what they will do in this course (to conduct their knowledge) first as indicator in the first meeting. Last, this syllabus must be needed Evaluation in evaluating, so, the teacher’s work can be organized and more helpful to evaluate their students.

  13. I think this syllabus is good and simple because you can provide your course structurally well and coherence. But I think you have to make the focus in your course. Then, for fifth meeting materials, you have to put the clear learning objectives. Next, for your course outline, It’s better for you, if you put the topic/subtopic in the left side, then followed by indicator, and so on. For activity in your course outline like reading, listening and speaking, actually it’s included in skill. Yeaa, your syllabus is good.

  14. This syllabus and materials are coherent and good enough. You made it quite systematically. So, I just want to give a simple comment, where is the methods of the learning? You didn't put it in the points. Maybe you just mention that in the activities right? But I think you also need to write that point (methods of learning) in order to make it clear. Thank you

  15. So far this syllabus is the simplest one :). this is very straight to the point and is not as complicated as the other syllabus which is good point for your group but I think you need to give more specific description on the competencies, because it's kind of unclear for me. more over, the material also too simple maybe you could make an innovation into it so it can be more interesting to learn in the classroom. after all, this syllabus will be better, simple, and easy to understand if you make it a bit clearer. god job for 5th group!
